How to Join the Richards PTO

Welcome back to the start of another great year at Richards School. To join the PTO you will need to confirm and update your BuzzBook information, pay for your membership and (hopefully!) make a donation to the PTO. All of this can be done via the Richards’ online student directory, the BuzzBook. The BuzzBook is offered as a service by the PTO for Richards families. In order to access the BuuzBook you must be a member of the Richards PTO. By joining the PTO you are not volunteering to do anything, and you are not automatically signed up for any activities or fundraisers. NEW THIS YEAR! My School Anywhere is now Membership Toolkit! My School Anywhere, the company the PTO previously worked with to manage the BuzzBook was bought out last spring by Membership Toolkit. This is good news! Now all WFB district schools are using Membership Toolkit to manage their student directories, meaning families with students at more than one district school can manage all their directory data in one place.

Please note that you are in control of all of your BuzzBook information and can opt out of sharing any or all of it at any time. Even if you want to keep all of your family's information private, we recommend having an account and allowing your child's name to be shared for class list purposes. This will ensure your child is included in the head count for class parties, valentines, birthday party invitations, etc. Having an account will also allow you to look up other family's contact information.


  1. Head over to

  2. Click on Register>>Login

    If you are a Middle School or High School Parent and have already created a Membership Toolkit account, please login with those credentials.

  3. Click on “Create Account” under New User

  4. Enter name, e-mail address & choose a password

  5. Click "verify my email" and then check your email for a link to complete the process. The link expires in 2 hours. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.

Once you have verified your email address, log back in and finish the following steps:

  1. Under BuzzBook Information, click on Step 1: Family Information

RETURNING FAMILY: Please verify your info

NEW FAMILY: Please enter your data as you would like it to appear in the directory

Under 2nd Parent “Would you like to invite…” Selecting Yes prompts the system to email the parent to create their MTK account. If they don’t want to receive all the PTO communications, they can manage their preferences in their profile. Selecting No means the 2nd Parent will need to remember to set up their profile.

2. Click Next Step

3. Under Student Information, verify your child’s/children’s names are spelled correctly and they are assigned to the correct grade level.

4. Select Classroom Teacher from the dropdown menu for each child

Additional children can be added by clicking on I have a 2nd, 3rd, etc. Student

5. Click Save

6. Under BuzzBook Information, click on Step 2: Directory Publish Preferences

Families have a choice of what data to display in the Richards BuzzBook. Families are in charge of the accuracy of their information and for keeping their information up to date. At any point in the school year parents can login and edit their contact information and how the information is shared with the Richards Community.

Selecting Yes (preferred) means you can opt to share whatever information you feel comfortable sharing anything with a blue check box is shared. To ensure your child’s name appears on class lists please check the box next to teacher

Selecting No means you will have access to the BuzzBook but neither your child nor your family will be listed.

7. Sign Up to Volunteer

This form is a contact interest list and is replacing the paper sign-up sheets usually available at registration. Putting your name on the list is an indication of interest in the committee, not an iron clad agreement! A committee chairperson will be in touch with volunteers as the school year progresses.

8. Under Join the PTO, click on PTO Membership Form 2019-2020 Join the PTO and complete the Membership form.

PTO Membership is $20, PTO Memberships are for one school year and the $20 is an annual fee. Two parent households only require one membership.

9. Support Richards Students and Teachers: This is where you donate! Please consider making a donation to the Richards PTO. We are entirely parent funded and all PTO money goes back to the school. To learn more about how PTO funds are spent, please click here.

11. Proceed to Check-Out.

That’s it! You’re officially a member of the Richards PTO.

To access the BuzzBook please make sure you download the Membership Toolkit App, available in the App Store or Google Play. If you haven’t already, please delete the My School Anywhere App. To login to the BuzzBook from your desktop, click on BuzzBook in the main menu of or use this link
